JapanInNYC.com is a pet project of a group of friends. We’re a collection of Japanese expats, Japanese Americans, recent NYC transplants, and born-and-raised New Yorkers. What links us all is a love of Japan and a love of New York.
New York is a city with deep and thriving Japanese destinations from famous institutions like Japan Society, Japan Village, and Kinokuniya Bookstore to hole-in-the-wall izakayas, niche shops, and hidden gems. JapanInNYC.com hopes to collect events both big and small and be a calendar, a black book, and a map to Japanese art and culture for all who call Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, The Bronx, and Staten Island home.
